Let's create something delicious.

Yesterday's chicken container with leftover chicken and 1 butter sandwich.

One pretty nice looking red apple.

And a bucket of potato salad!

Potato salad has an expiration date of 1 month ago. We heard arguments during yesterday's lunch that the chicken actually only said it should be "sold" by the week before, not eaten by the week before. Today, there is no such excuse. Although, the subject tried to counter that potato salad was supposed to taste sour, and aging it over time enhances the flavor.
Definition of "spectacle":
  • something or someone seen (especially a notable or unusual sight); "the tragic spectacle of cripples trying to escape"
  • an elaborate and remarkable display on a lavish scale

Take a look inside the backpack if you dare.

3 containers.

The first 2 are fairly innocent looking.

The container with the green lid holds 2 sandwiches. 1 butter, 1 butter & jam.

The container with the pink lid contains an upside down piece of pie. Shown here on the lid for correct orientation.

And for the grand finale: An entire chicken! That's right folks, a chicken.

Removing the lid reveals a nibble here and there. It looks like the wings and legs have already been consumed...

...as well they should have been, since the sell by date is clearly noted as last Thursday.

And a shot of lunch in action: Of course, the chicken was eaten by hand. Like a giant chicken wing.

Let us reenact the lunch packing process today. Note: what follows is a dramatization.

Early in the morning, find a container suitable for a variety of food items. Here's one that might work - measuring approximately 8" x 6.5" in length and width.

Start the bottom layer with 2 pieces of pizza snuggled against one another.

Add one german pancake. It fits well along the hypotenuse.

Are there hotdogs inside? Check.

Top the pancake with the number of jam sandwiches it takes to get to the top of the container. In this case that will be 2 sandwiches.

Does the lid fit? Yup.

And that, my friends, is how you pack a lunch!

But not so fast. There are also snacks to account for:

Like a banana.

And did someone say "gingerbread cookies"? Holla! Two varieties today.

A smidge of Pirate's booty for a quick treat...

and half a power bar in case of emergencies.

Container #2 holds a half eaten pretzel and 10 Cherub tomatoes.

Side view reveals there is more going on in Container #1 than initially thought.

Fish,
mushrooms,
and carrots and broccoli.

This seemingly innocent looking backpack contains:

A container of potato salad. It appears it may have been on its side on the trip into work.

A slice of pizza. Supibrot! was only allowed to take a picture of the slice after it was warmed up. Note: There are 3 types of pizza you can buy at Sam's Club: 1. Frozen, 2. Fresh in the deli section ready to be warmed up at home or 3. From the snack bar.

Once the potato salad and pizza slice were put side to side, lunch did not look fulfilling.

Another piece of pizza was added to the family.
